What is Kuccps?
Kuccps is an abbreviation for Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service. Kuccps is a government owned institution within the ministry of education whose core function is to coordinate the placement or admission of government sponsored students in universities (both public and private) as well as public colleges among other functions. Kuccps replaced Joint Admission Board (JAB) whose mandate was to coordinate placement of government sponsored students in public universities.
When does Kuccps placement occur?
Kuccps undertakes its placement or admission process every year following the release of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results. The courses under Kuccps database are therefore offered in various universities and colleges. Kuccps provides placement for students in various course categories. These courses are categorized as follow; Kuccps degree courses, Kuccps diploma courses, Kuccps craft certificate courses and Kuccps artisan courses. For ease of Kuccps application and placement, each of these Kuccps courses or programmes have unique codes depending on where they are offered.
