Who is a water engineering craftsman?
A water engineering craftsman is a craftsperson or a worker skilled in water engineering or a closely related area. In simple terms, water engineering deals with the flow and conveyance of water and sewage. Broadly, it deals with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of water supply, wastewater, drainage and irrigation systems. Under the supervision of senior water engineering officers, the work of water engineering craftsmen is to assist in construction and maintenance of water and wastewater supply systems among other duties.

Becoming a water engineering craftsman

Minimum admission requirements
A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade D (plain) and above is required.

Training & Study options
With a KCSE mean grade D (plain) and above, you can proceed to a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college and enroll for a relevant craft certificate course. Craft courses are also offered within Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) within your region.
