Bachelor of Science in Agriculture: Agriculture courses and requirements

Requirements for a bachelor of science in agriculture are:

  1. Holders of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C+ or equivalent with passes at C plain or above in Biology or Biological Sciences/C + (plus) in Agriculture; C (plain) in Chemistry and C (plain) in any one of the following subjects: Physics, Physical Sciences, Mathematics or Geography
  2. Holders of KCSE mean Grade of C- or equivalent plus a Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by the Senate.
  3. Holders of ‘O’ level Division II or equivalent plus a Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by the Senate
  4. Holders of ‘A’ level with two Principal Passes or equivalent in Biology and any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, or Agriculture.
  5. Holders of KCSE mean Grade of C plain or equivalent plus a Diploma in Biological Sciences or related sciences from an institution recognized by the Senate.
  6. Holders of a higher national Diploma in Biological Sciences or related sciences from an institution recognized by the government.

Diploma programs: Agriculture courses and requirements

Depending on the training institution you wish to join to pursue a course or a diploma in agriculture, candidates must have obtained the minimum admission requirements, which include;

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Applicants: A minimum of Grade C- (C minus). In addition, applicants must meet specific School/Department Requirements or;
  2. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE): At least one Principal level pass and one subsidiary pass. In addition, applicants must meet specific School/Department Requirements or;

Craft and artisan in agriculture: Agriculture courses and requirements

The following are the admission requirements;

  1. Craft-certificate course: KCSE mean grade D plain and above
  2. Artisan courses: KCSE mean grade D- (minus) and below, including KCPE.
